ARCTIC CIRCLE TRAIL_2014

We hiked the Arctic Circle Trail -- from Kangerlussuaq to Sisimiut, Greenland -- in 11 days, from August 12 to 22, 2014. The trek spans just over 100 miles and lies entirely north of the Arctic Circle. Along the way we met two dozen fellow hikers, picked wild blueberries, saw reindeer and arctic hare, ate freshly caught arctic char, canoed on a crystal clear lake, and forded freezing cold rivers. The immense space and silence were incredible. A part of ourselves will always be on the trails in the arctic wilderness.
As preamble and postamble to our ACT trek, we did a day hike on the inland ice cap and spent 3 days at Illulissat next to the icefjords, respectively.
